Elias Fabian Maier’s Trainee Program Experience
As a citizen of the world, I am constantly seeking challenges and trying to feed my curiosity. I traveled across South America, experiencing all the funny aspects but also the difficult side of a third-world country while adapting to the challenging environments at the University in Santiago de Chile. For my master’s diploma in Barcelona, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, I enjoyed living with roommates from four different countries. But now I am glad to repay my student loan for this intensive intercultural experience.
After I have finished my store phase at a BILLA market, I am already missing to start working at 5 am. In the store, I could not only extend my business network but also made a lot of friends and I learned a lot about all major store processes in detail, which is a solid base to further go on.
One of the great aspects as a Trainee at REWE is that you can knock at almost everybody’s door in order to get insights about REWE and the retail industry. I might regret some things in my life, but I am 100% sure that my well-considered decision to join REWE as an International Management Trainee was the best choice for me to begin a professional career in the exciting FMCG industry and therefore I definitely can invite everyone to apply.
Now I am looking forward to further meeting interesting colleagues, facing challenging tasks, and I am very excited to start my international project in Lithuania as well as to make another cultural experience. The International Management Trainee Program at REWE allows me to continuously widen my understanding of the retail industry, to extend my professional skills, and to grow personally. At the end of the program, I will be perfectly prepared for the next step.
